Peter Meulyzer is Senior Staff obstetrician and gynaecologist working at the Sint-Augustinus Hospital in Wilrijk (Antwerp) Belgium. After graduating from high school in Antwerp (Belgium), Peter Meulyzer spend a year as an exchange-student in the United States with a scholarship from the American Field Service; he graduated from Lane High School in Charlottesville, Virginia. Peter Meulyzer went to medical school at the Facultes Universitaires Notre-Dame de la Paix in Namur (Belgium) - in french - and at the Catholic University of Louvain - KUL - (Belgium), in dutch. He obtained his medical degree from the latter in 1974. Subsequently, doctor Meulyzer specialised in obstetrics and gynaecology at the University of Antwerp (Belgium) and at the University of Pretoria (South Africa). Doctor Peter Meulyzer has been teaching midwifery at the Karel de Grote Hogeschool in Antwerp for many years. He is also actively involved in the practical teaching of residents in (operative) obstetrics and gynaecology. Peter Meulyzer is fluent in dutch, french and english, and has a basic knowlegde of german, italian, spanish and afrikaans.
